About us

AFRI-KOKOA is an afro-arts event organisation founded 2005 in Brixton, London. AFRI-KOKOA curates, produces & programmes multi-arts events reflective of the cultural fusions of Africa and its Diaspora as expressed in music, art, dance, movement, word, poetry, storytelling, film, fashion and craft.

We aim to deliver afro-arts programming that entertains, informs and educate culturally diverse audiences in an open-minded inclusive manner. We expressly support UK-based talent.

Original artists who have performed and taken part in panel discussions at AFRI-KOKOA include Award winning architect David Adjaye OBE, International Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare MBE, Afro-dance queen Wunmi, Award winning Jazz artist Cleveland Watkiss, award winning trumpeter Byron Wallen, Soul II Soul supremo Jazzy B MBE, singer-performer and teacher Randolph Matthews, Award winning Ghanaian hip life artists M3nsa and Wanlov, singer-songwriters Mpho Skeef, Producer and DJ Charlie Dark (Blacktronica), Afrobeat band Yaaba Funk, Soothsayers, Master Kora player Seckou Keita, Sura Susso, Richy Pitch, Femi Fem, Fela Kuti musical onstage band Fontanelles, 2012 Songlines nominee Amira Khier, Abdoulaye Samb, Jally Kebba Susso, Afro-Brazilian band Da Lata and many more….
